What is an Ordinariate?
St. Margaret's was created in 2015 to be a resource for all Catholics in Katy and the surrounding area. It is a parish of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, a special diocese created under the apostolic constitution Anglicanorum Coetibus by Pope Benedict XVI to create a way for groups of former Anglicans to come into full communion with the Roman Catholic Church. Our liturgy and some of our practices are rooted in ancient English Catholicism. Yet the primary mission of the Ordinariate is evangelism. We exist to bring new people into the life of the Church, to share in the beauty of our rich Catholic tradition, and to serve the whole of the Church as partners in the work of transforming the world and proclaiming the Kingdom of God.
